Melina Psarros is a Greek-American Director of Photography based in Los Angeles, who comes from Rochester, New York - the home of Kodak. She received her Bachelor's in Television & Film Production from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, along with minors in Art History, and French Language & Francophone Culture.
Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic, Melina founded and directed the Salt City International Film Festival which connected young filmmakers during a time of isolation. The festival received over one hundred submissions stemming from every major continent, and featured virtual screenings and events with industry speakers. She continues to host community centered events in LA, with a primary focus on building a stronger network for below the line creatives.
In her free time you can find her at her favorite coffee shops, on a hike, or walking slowly through a museum reading every label. She loves sending her friends photos of Jiji, her black cat who is named after her favorite childhood film Kiki's Delivery Service.
